So great to know that there is an Ethiopian restaurant 5 minutes close to my workplace that serves really great food at really great prices! Not only did my doro wot order came with cottage cheese, which I miss dearly, my 16 oz tea was only 2, which is better than what a typical cafe would charge for hot beverages. Not to mention that the lentil sambosas had quite a satisfying, spicy kick to them, which is a surprise to me. For 18 total, not a bad price! While the injera was a little dry, overall, I must say that I’m very fortunate enough to work very close to this restaurant and I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes. Pray hope that covid19 would be over soon. I would be more than happy to witness a ceremony here one of these days.

Love this spot, the host was all business with my husband while ordering but was so sweet with me! Thank you for offering me a spiced tea while we waited for our takeout, the hospitality here is a 10/10! Get the veggie combo and the deriek tibs, both are fantastic and come with a generous amount of injera.

This place is in an unassuming strip mall (not even facing the main road), and the decor is no frills - but the food is spectacular! I can't speak on the meat dishes, but the veg items are great! The salad was fresh and crunchy. The house made vinaigrette was refreshing, and the black pepper was a nice touch! (Bonus points for the fresh chopped jalapeno!) The vegetarian platter was enough for two, but priced for one. Every item was tasty and so well seasoned. The lentils were cooked to perfection, no matter their size and color - each retained the proper texture. 10/10 absolutely recommend!

My wife is Ethiopian and I have had it from time to time. This is hands down the best Ethiopian food I have ever had by far!! Just unreal!!

I Love Ethiopian Food! I meet a business investor at the restaurant and she introduced me to Sheger’s. I have been going ever since. I love the Kitfo and the enjeri. The cabbage, lentils, and goat cheese. I have developed a taste for it somehow . Their greens taste nothing like soul food greens and yet I love it. If you are near Sycamore View and Macon Rd. Try it!

Delicious I love Injera, the spongy, brown bread Chicken Steak with Onions, Tomatoes, Green Peppers, Garlic, and Lentils served with Injera Bread which is the national dish. Spring Roll Wrappers with Onion, Green Peppers, and Lentils!!!

I’m not a connoisseur of Ethiopian food like some of the other reviewers but wowwww this food is amazing. I had the lamb wet and I had to force myself to stop eating when I got full because it was amazing. Perfectly spiced, the lentils were incredibly flavorful, and the cabbage was perfect. The owner was super friendly and has great energy. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and very welcoming. It’s way out of my way but I’ll be back regularly.

Best service and kindest staff in memphis. Food is consistently delicious, hot, and fresh. Portions are huge, and price hasn't increased in years. Red lentils are to die for. On top of it all they spoil my daughter every time we go. She is 10 and says she wishes could eat Ethiopian every day. More restaurants could learn from the owners of this restaurant. I've never felt more welcome than here.
